Learn MoreMost people don’t understand what may be contributing to their pain, but you can help!
Feeling controlled, disempowered and helpless are common symptoms associated with chronic pain. There are so many contextual factors that can play a huge role in a person’s pain experience. But you can play an important and influential role in breaking down the complexities of pain helping your clients move from a pain pathway to a wellness walk.
No one wants to experience pain! It is a frustrating fact that many clients seek resolve from a variety of healthcare professions but, are still in pain. Pain is complex!
Wouldn't it feel great if you could teach your clients how to understand their pain and help them know what things in their life might make their pain worse?
Pain originates from so many things and is not only a 'tissue issue'.
There are a complex array of many other factors including physiological issues which influence our experience of pain. For example, some people get phantom limb pain when there is no limb? Other people who have suffered bereavement feel pain when there is no physical problem.
In fact, the same neural pathways are activated from both emotional and physical pain. A deeper understanding of pain science can help us provide enhanced care for our clients.

There's no doubt that we've all been faced with challenges due to the pandemic and we've all had to navigate through uncertain times. For us, as therapists and clinicians not being allowed to physically touch and help her clients was incredibly hard when helping is at the very core of what and who we are, and what we love doing.
Every one of us has had to learn to adapt and create a new way of working. We became therapists because we enjoy helping others to thrive and to regain our health and wellness and we are needed now, more than ever.
In-Touch Education has also been challenged with new ways of course delivery. Like you, we had to take a step back, regroup and adapt. After all, I also love helping people. I'm still a massage therapist at heart, and I love helping my clients to help their clients.
Over the years as a therapist, I have realised that practical skills are vital to our clinical practice but so too is knowledge of anatomy and physiology, theoretical reasoning and effective communication.
I am passionate about sharing the understanding of how pain works along with so that you have the confidence to communicate the complex nature of pain in an easy to understand way to empower your clients and enhance your treatment outcomes.
This is the POWER of being EMPOWERED!

Such an informative course by Ruth with a wealth of resources to use afterwards . I found it really useful to have a copy of the workbook/transcript throughout the session as I’m usually scribbling away . Ruth has a wealth of knowledge and very practical and personable presentation style. This course brings together a lot of my ‘gut’ instincts with scientific back up - it will enhance my interaction with my clients, their treatment plan and their health journey/‘walk-to wellness’. Thank you Ruth
